SOPHENE. Artagigarta. Octachalkon (Bronze, 22 mm, 12.98 g), CY 8 = 57/6 BC. Draped and turreted bust of the city-goddess to right. Rev. Wreath with ties inwards; above, city monogram; to left, H; to right, monogram of ΠO. Kovacs 209 (same dies, as unique). Of the highest rarity, possibly the third known example. Patina stripped and hence somewhat rough, otherwise, fine.
